Upcoming cars in India in 2012

The Indian car market ranks seventh largest in the world, even bigger than France, U.K. and Spain by volume. The volume growth was a very healthy 25.6% in FY 10 which maintained its momentum in FY 11 registering 29.8% growth in the first 11 months. High disposable income coupled with solid economic growth, easy financing options and favorable demographics (50% of population under the age of 25), growing urbanization, rising trends in nuclear families are primary reasons for driving this growth.

With such upsurge in sales expected sales of cars in India in FY 11 had touched a figure of about 2.5 million of passenger vehicles. There is a mild slump in car sales during the last few months with the current recessionary situation in the global markets, a steadily falling rupee, stifling liquidity crunch and rising interest rates. Consequent upon this robust growth history car manufacturers bring out new versions with attractive features to whet appetite of Indian car users. Thus, every year newer models are released with improvised features in the auto expos.
