Australia Immigration Points and Live in Australia

Australia immigration points new system focus on better English levels, more extensive skilled employment and higher level qualifications obtained in Australia and overseas. There will no longer be a distinction in the pass mark between the independent & sponsored visas and permanent & provisional visas. The pass mark will be 65 points. Under the current administration of the points test scheme, you are awarded points from a possible nine qualifications as prescribed by the regulations where relevant for a particular class of visa. Applicants for subclass 175 visa are awarded points for the eight of these qualifications, while applicants for subclass 176 visas are awarded points for all nine qualifications.

Australia immigration points are awarded for the following:

• Age – you must be under 45 years of age on the day of making application.

• 18 to 24 years-25 points, 25 to 32 years-30 points, 33 to 39 years -25 points, 40 to 44 points 15 points and 45 to 49 years 0 points.

• Skilled occupation- your occupation you nominate is on the SOL current at the time of application

• English skill – you get points for proficient English 10 points and superior English 20 points.

• Employment experience – you must be employed in an occupation for either, 36, 60 or 96 of the 120 months before the visa application is made. You may score 5, 10 or 15 points respectively.

• Spouse skill –you an extra 5 points if your spouse meets all the above basic requirements

• State sponsorship –you must have a nomination from a participating state or territory government if you not have an eligible relative sponsor.

• Specific work experience – you will be awarded points if you have been employed for 3 of the last 4 years in an occupation on the skilled occupation list.

• Australian qualification – you are awarded points if you have completed qualification for 10 points or 15 points for Australian PhD and 5 points for recognized degree or diploma or trade qualification.

• Community language –you score points for fluency in one of Australia community languages as evidenced by a qualification.
