Know about CNG & Conversion Kits
CNG sands for compressed natural gas. What is its usage? Often it’s heard that CNG is required for running vehicles. Why the hell should people use compressed natural gas when gasoline is available so widely? Definitely, gasoline is available widely. However, it is not always about the availability factor that matters. What matters most is the price and affordability factor? Those who follow the present market condition may well be aware of the fact that price of gasoline have increased by a massive rate. For people of limited monthly income, such a situation can bring lot of trouble. Uncompressed natural gas is clean and very cheap in price. One may be amazed to hear that uncompressed natural gas costs less than half of gasoline. However, there is a problem. Compressed natural gas will not work with normal vehicle engines. Either the engine should be cng supportable or natural gas needs to be converted into normal auto operating fuel. The first option may not be favorable for those who already have vehicles..
There are several compressed natural gas conversion kits available in the market. In fact, such kits have been there in the market for decades. They are highly reliable and with enhanced technology, they offer the best output. Mainly, there are 2 major system types:
1) SEFI (Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection Kit) - They are considered to be the most efficient of all the kits available in the market. They are technologically sound and perfect for OBDII vehicles. 2)
2) The "venture/mixer" system – These are much cheaper and does not feature any type of digital computing device/display. They bypass injectors totally.
In general, the conversion kits have 4 basic components, namely CNG tanks, injectors, ECU, and regulators.
