Maintenance of a hygienic and clean bathroom necessarily requires the cleaning of bathroom tiles. There are a number of simple ways through which you can clean your bathroom tiles to make way for a well kept bathroom.

Bathroom cleaning activity involves the cleaning of tiles and removal of any mildew, mold or soap scum that may get accumulated. There is a tendency for the tiles to get dirty fast as the bathrooms usually remain damp due to heavy usage. The first step towards cleaning of bathroom tiles is to remove any bacteria or germs by disinfecting them. Spraying the disinfectant on the tiles and wiping them clean with a sponge will help removing both dust and germs.

Due to the damp environment of a bathroom, mold and mildew usually build up on the tiles. This can be removed by spraying a solution of bleach and water (mixed in equal proportions) and allowing it to stand for some time. Later, the bathroom tiles can be cleaned with the help of a sponge or a scrub. Apart from mold and mildew, there is also a high tendency of soap scum to build up a layer on the bathroom tiles. This can be prevented by waxing the tiles which will make them look clean and shiny.

If you have bathroom flooring made up of mosaic tiles, it becomes more important to keep them thoroughly clean. This is because the mosaic tiles have an uneven surface which collects dirt easily. This not only makes them unhygienic but can also shorten their life. But you can keep your tiles clean by making use of some basic household items. The frequency of cleaning will depend upon the location of tiles i.e. more cleaning is required for the tiles which are exposed to most of the moisture (like kitchen and bathroom tiles).
