IMF cutting global growth forecast- Lagarde

Christine Lagarde, the chief of the International Monetary Fund that is IMF has reported that when the organization will be coming up with its next forecast on the growth of the global economy is going to be down from the previous prediction of 3.5 per cent in the month of April. She also had to add that the leaders of the countries of the European Union had done quite a lot of efforts so that the solution of this debt crisis can be brought upon.

She further had to add that quite important steps had been taken in this regard, but it is not only important that these stpes are brought into mind but it is very important that furthermore reforms are brought in as well as when the implementation is done, it should happen in a stronger manner.

Christine Lagarde had said all this when she was taking a part in an economic symposium that was being held in Tokyo when she was taking a tour of Asia that was a tour for one week.

Pointing out to the measures that were taken by the leaders of the eurozone in the summit that was held week, she was of the view that from the point of view of the IMF, there was a belief that much more needs to be done so that a proper reform should be brought in. she then said that what the main thing which have to be brought into consideration is the implementation, an implementation that has to be rigorous, diligent as well as steady.

In particular, she was all praise of the moves as far as the issue of union of banking is concerned. But along with this it also added that it is important that now only much more has to be done in this regard from both outside as well as inside the eurozone when the efforts each time should be fresh and also the level of co-operation amongst the countries should also be increased.

She also had to say all the countries should work in connection to each other in order to restore the lost trust in reform that should be brought in the financial sector, in the case of sovereign as well as in the achievement of sustained growth.
