Kim Tara Tabie - the Crusader for Justice

If there is one thing which has bothered Kim Tara Tabie for some time it is the fact that she saw the justice system as being corrupted by money. She kept seeing people who were sent away to jail for petty crimes because they simply could not afford a quality lawyer. She witnessed corporations crush small-time merchants not because they were going to ruin them, but because they simply could. She had no illusions as to what one person could do to such a system, but she did have a goal in her life: defend those who deserve it.

Kim Tara Tabie was not always like this as there was a time where she believed that the justice system was right and that for it to work some sacrifices had to be made. However, it wasn't until she took a law class under Gale Scott McCann Faverella that she learned about Cesare Beccaria, the man who provided the basic philosophy for laws to be put into place. In his writings, Beccaria stated that an act which does not cause harm to public or private property cannot be considered a crime. While that sentence is quite small it held a whole lot of meaning for Kim Tara Tabie as it made her believe that the way to rid society of criminals is not to bunch them up together into a secluded place, but rather to re-habilitate them by having them repay their debt in a way that is helpful to society.

Once Kim Tara Tabie had finished her studies and became a lawyer, she immediately took on a case where a young woman by the name of Myunghee Chun Kim was facing jail time for the possession of marijuana. It didn't matter to Tabie what other people thought of the case; in her mind she believed that it was a victimless crime and jail time was certainly a case of overkill in this situation. Fortunately for them, Kim Tara Tabie managed to get the sentence reduced to two weeks of community service, and ever since then she has become quite popular locally and has been recognized as a defender of the people… someone who will fight for the right thing no matter the cost.
